International Day

Arguably our most anticipated day each year, International Day celebrates the cultural and racial diversity of our Burwood GHS community. Students, staff and parents all enjoy food, music and dance from all corners of the globe.

Mural project

In 2023, the "Year for First Nations Voices", students at Burwood GHS renamed the Burwood GHS sport houses to names of influential Aboriginal people from history: Barangaroo, the red house, Pemulwuy, the blue house, Bennelong, the green house, and Cora (later corrected to Caroo), the yellow house.

To honour this change, the CAPA faculty committed their annual mural project to recognising these influential people. The first two murals, Pemulwuy and Barangaroo, were installed in May of 2025 with the next two set to be installed in 2026. We celebrated the halfway completion of this monumental project with a ceremony attended by students, staff and local elders Uncle John and Uncle Jimmy - Thank you for leading the celebrations.

STEM and Performance Space

Drafted and designed by dedicated Burwood GHS parent, Shaun Carter, the completion of the STEM and Performance Space in 2022 was a mammoth effort and collaboration. Initially started in 2017, stands as a testament to the voracity of the Burwood GHS community.
