Community consultation position WestConnex

Community Notices banner

WestConnex is looking for a member to represent communities from Concord to Haberfield on their Air Quality Community Consultative Committee (AQCCC) for the New M4 Tunnels.

This position on the AQCCC is open to any representative of the local community, including school parents and teachers. Any interested applicants should fill out the registration form and send it via email to info@westconnex.com.au.

The New M4 Tunnels opened in July 2019. In accordance with the projects Conditions of Approval, the AQCCC is required to operate for a period of two years from the commencement of operation. This means, as the project has been in operation for approximately one year, the AQCCC is due to cease mid-2021. There are three meetings scheduled for the remainder of 2020:

  • Tuesday 2 June
  • Tuesday 1 September
  • Tuesday 1 December.

Now that the New M4 Tunnels are operational, the AQCCC’s role is to provide advice and input on compliance tracking reporting, audit reports, complaints relating to air quality and the distribution of air quality monitoring results. Further information on the operation of the AQCCC can be found on the WestConnex website.

As mentioned above, the next AQCCC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 June 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures advised by the NSW Government, this upcoming meeting will be held via the Zoom platform. Further details would be provided closer to the date to the successful applicant.
