School Council
Burwood GHS encourages staff, students, parents and community members to participate in the school’s decision-making process. Our School Council ensures that all these groups are represented on the council and have an input into the school’s priorities (4 teachers, 4 students, 4 parents, 4 community members, P&C president, Principal and Deputy Principals).
The school council meet four times each year, once per erm. The School Council has been very active in the ongoing discussions over the use of the School's facilities and other projects.
Council Members are involved in areas such as:
- Representation on interview panels for the selection of staff
- Supporting school evaluation processes
- Indentifying education needs
- Determining school aims and policies
- Preparing input for management plan
- Preparing surveys to assist planning
- Assessing the school’s budget/financial needs, and
- Identifying facilities improvements.
