High Potential and Gifted Education - HPGE
Students currently in Year 7 are selected on merit and work on independent, self-directed projects in consultation with the HPGE program coordinator. Parents may nominate students for participation in the HPGE program by responding to the letter to parents. This will be issued to interested Year 7 students after the start of the year and following Year 7 camp.
There is no HPGE test involved for Year 6 students wishing to enrol at our school.
Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics - STEAM
STEAM is an important part of learning at Burwood Girls High School. A highlight of the school year is 'iLumin8' - a showcase of STEAM projects by Year 8 students. Parents and friends are invited to view the showcase in the evening when all the exhibits light up.
Futures Learning
Futures Learning is an elective course designed to build the skills students require for living in a rapidly changing world in the context of an area of study of the students’ own interests.
Futures Learning aims to promote risk taking in learning, and while targeted at high potential learners, it is open to all students.
